Dennis Doyle (Simon Pegg) is a lazy and slightly overweight guy. 5 years ago, he left his 8 month pregnant fiance Libby (Thande Newton) at the alter because he was too scared to get married. Ever since, he's been a great dad to his son and he's regretted his decision. He really loves Libby.

When he discovers that Libby has found a hot new boyfriend, Whitt (Hank Azaria), Dennis tries to make his move on Libby, even if that means befriending Whitt. Whitt is good looking and in shape - he even runs marathons!

In order to prove to Libby that he's a worthy man, Dennis vows to also run the marathon.

Now, this sounds pretty cheese huh? Running a marathon to impress a woman. But the story is pretty solid. Libby and Dennis both admit that running a marathon won't the love back "on". But the running scenes are pretty funny, and it's really a moving story. I highly recommend it!
